With only two ultra fast recovery diode UF4004 with a few capacitors and an oscillator circuit, we can create a DC/DC voltage inverter. DC/DC inverter here, means creating a negative voltage output with the opposite to the source DC voltage.
A fully soldered and tested PCB
Copper Side
I use NE555 configured as an oscillator to create a square wave, pulsing the negative voltage inverter circuit.
Some NE555 in my components stock
Device pin diagram from the Vendor TI
The IC supplied with the voltage of +12 V. The negative voltage output created by the negative voltage inverter is nearly the same in magnitude of the source voltage but it's different in polarity.
Schematic
Just like an electronics hobbyist, I did this stuff from scratch with any calculation. It excepts the circuit design, simulation and PCB design.
Circuit Simulation. The output square wave from the oscillator is 30.25 uS period. The amplitude of the signal is 5.50 V. The output negative voltage fail steadily to -12 V DC.
